Word of the Day: Canon

Please answer your homework at the comment box below. Thanks! Best submissions get no prize. It's fun anyway.

Canon: (I bet you know what canon means, but this isn't that canon.)

"Canon" [kan | on] adj: Official in its domain.
(ethnolinguistic group of etymological origin : netspeak)
(synonyms: fanon)
(related terms: official, implied, AU)

Canon is used mostly in fanfiction and is used to describe an idea or a topic or principle that is implied officially in its original state. A synonym of Canon is Fanon, which is an idea or topic or principle that has not been sated or shown in a franchise's original state. Fanons are mostly made by rabid fangirls. Most fanons are pairings; where most pairings are slash. Canons are made official by the franchise itself. Fanons may become Canons as the franchise progresses.

Examples of Canons:
-Edward/Bella
-Wizards of Waverly Place is set in New York
-Cookleta
-Indiana Jones is afraid of snakes
-Hannah Montana is Miley Stewart's alter-ego

Examples of Fanons:
-All characters in the Harry Potter universe are capable of pregnancy (ew!!)
-SasuNaru
-Shrek dies in Shrek 2
-Mishka is not smart.
-Sharpay ends up with Troy

Homework: List 3 Canons and 2 Fanons. And a substancial basis to why this is so.
